I’m delighted to welcome USA Today Bestselling and Award Winning Author ROSE GORDON to Rakes and Rascals today for an exclusive interview.

Carol, thank you so much for having me on. I am super excited to be here.

~~~~~~~
R&R:
Could you tell us where you were born and what it was like growing up there?
Rose:
I was born in the southern US, but moved to the Pacific North West (Oregon) when I was six, so I feel like I grew up there. It was fantastic. An hour from the beach or an hour from the mountains, there was never a dull moment. I remember is snowing some years in July and being warm enough to wear shorts some winters. There were always festivals and fairs going on. It was truly a neat place to grow up.
R&R
:
How would you describe yourself – temperamental or easy-going?
Rose:
This might depend on who you ask. 😀 I like to think I’m easy going, but there are times when I get excited about things and…well…excitement can quickly get away from me.
R&R:
When it comes to food do you like sweet or savoury or both?
Rose:
Sweet! I have a serious addiction to sweets. Cake, pies, candy bars, homemade candies—you name it, I love it. I once heard that sugar is more addicting than cocaine and I believe it. I love sugar.
R&R:
What is your most treasured possession?
Rose:
I feel like I’m about to give a Forrest Gump answer. I don’t really have one. It’s not that I have no possessions, it’s just that I’ve learned not to put a lot of stock in physical things. Instead, I value my family and experiences I get to have with them.
R&R:
If you could afford a second home anywhere in the world where would you choose and why?
Rose:
Charleston, South Carolina. I have always loved old plantation-style houses. The style and design that went into them is so incredible. I’d love to live in one and let myself drift off to a time when things were simpler.
R&R:
Finally, what has been your most embarrassing moment?
Rose:
I have so many to pick from…. Straying away from the ones that are most common (being walked in on naked or ripping pants in public), I will tell you about something I’m sure no one else could claim. A few years ago, I took my boys to a local cowboy themed amusement park. Before they let everyone go back, the head “dude” dressed in his cowboy duds, complete with a plastic Sheriff’s badge and a cap gun had to give us all a talk about the rules of his Frontier City (name of the place). In the middle of his show, he called on my two boys…and me to come be part of his demonstration. We got up there and suddenly he announces there is a T-Rex loose in the city and calls on each of my boys…and me…to each make a T-Rex sound (which isn’t exactly a roar, but is more of a roaring squeal) and move our arms and legs like a T-Rex in front of everyone else. Then, after we’d each done it, the audience had to vote for who did it best (my 6-year-old son won) and that person was crowned Mayor for the day.
Yet for Chloe, surrendering to temptation may be easier than risking a future that could ruin them both…
Especially since he abandoned her just when they were about to elope to Gretna Green. Five years later, Harriet hasn’t forgotten the way Lord Garret’s smoldering gaze and wicked sense of humor touched her soul. Still, there’s no way she’ll forgive the traitorous libertine, no matter how he stirs her passions. Still, Harriet is not to be trusted. She callously betrayed him once. So how can he ever allow himself another chance at love when love always seems to hurt so much?
