This is Lucinda Brant’s stunning new cover for NOBLE SATYR, the first book in her outstanding Roxton Family Saga series. To discover the fascinating story behind this cover from inception to publication click on the link below. The same in-depth research and attention to detail that characterise her books are evident when you read the blog post and watch the video.
Wonderful! I loved reading and watching this!
Thank you so much for your comments, Maggie. I know that Lucinda put so much of herself into this project and I think the result is amazing.
I knew you’d love it, Maggie. Another lady who deals in absolute authenticity xo
And so much fun to see modern people then transformed into 18th century people!
Thank you so much for sharing my news, Carol! Your support is so appreciated! You know better than most all the toil that went into this project, and I thank you for helping me get through it! 🙂 xo
I am more than happy to spread the word, Lucinda. 🙂
So happy you enjoyed it, Maggie! TY!!
It is a superb series of marvellous books. BUT surely one of the points was a significant age disparity in both chronology – actual age – and experience, and this is not refleted in the cover.
Marina, I’m so happy you love the books! And that’s interesting you don’t think the age difference is reflected in the cover because the age disparity between the models is greater than that between Antonia and Roxton. So you see I choose them with great care to make sure I did not misrepresent the union, and this was just as important to get right as it was the historical details.
Thank you for your great comment as it gave me the opportunity to point this out (which I didn’t think I would need to do – so thank you).
Thanks for this very full reply, Lucinda.
Love it!!!!
So happy you do, Jacquie! 🙂
Well as you know what may matter is appearance rather than truth., in this case the real age discrepancy between the couple on the new cover and in the novel. I cannot remember the age discrepancy….from the novel. except that there was one! I have everything in book form, hooray, but I think a volume of the letters is still in e book form only? have not looked lately. Anyway it is a superb series. WHich is what matters most. What’s next????
See my reply below… For some reason it did not leave it here. Apologies!
Oh WoW! I loved reading and watching the video of the cover shoot. It was a real treat. I love the Roxton Saga and think it is time for a reread.
So happy you enjoyed it! 🙂 And even more that you love the Roxton Saga!!! And that it is time for a re-read! 🙂 That’s the best compliment an author can get – to know her books are being read more than once! So TY 🙂
Simply amazing. I’ve watched at least half a dozen times. Joanna Chambers is going home to watch it tonight. She’s a superb Scottish author (whose day job is a lawyer). I spent the day with her and she was VERY interested. Bravo, Lucinda. xo
So have I, Wendy!!! LOL!!! So thrilled you’ve enjoyed it so much.:) TY for spreading the word! 🙂
Interesting to get your reader perspective, Marina…
For me as the author the couple on the cover are the couple in the book 🙂
To be entirely transparent here, my parents had the same age discrepancy as Roxton and Antonia, so for me it was never a big deal. They were my parents. And to be honest, they were entirely suited. Looking at photos of their wedding day you’d never know there was that gulf in their ages. My father, like Roxton (and the model on the cover), was not an ‘old’ man and nor did my mother look like a teenager (she was). Age was never an issue for them or spoken about (I certainly never heard a word said growing up, by family or the wider community), and it only became an issue when my father grew old, and yes, died way before any if us were ready for him to go… and as you know I deal with this in Autumn Duchess…
Both sets of letters are available in print. 🙂
Once the next Alec Halsey is out, I’ll be returning to the Roxtons! So stay tuned! And TY for commenting! 🙂
Lucinda, I was looking at my Kindle copy of Noble Satyr with the previous cover, which was also very strong and striking. May I ask what made you decide to go for a new cover?
Hi Maggie, firstly thank you for the comment about “modern” people being transformed into 18thC people because I have always been of the view that people are people, from whatever time period, as human nature has changed very little over the millennia. It is the manners and mores and dress that have! I so enjoyed watching Andy and Nicole transformed into Roxton and Antonia, and so happy you did too!
Why did I change the covers? Firstly TY that you thought the previous cover was striking. I looked at some 10s of thousands of images (tough I know) to find my M’sieur le duc! However, this project to change all the Roxton covers started about 5 years ago with the “what if I could have an historically accurate cover – particulary the clothing” moment. And also, the “headshot” covers were not genre specific to historical romance and reader expectations… So down the cover/branding rabbit hole I went! I wrote about it in the first blog post about the new covers… if you want to know the entire saga behind the saga here it is: https://www.lucindabrant.com/blog/roxton-family-saga-new-covers
